This studio was designed for goldsmith and jewellery designer Ute Sanne. It is smaller than the writer's studio and built to a very modest budget. It was also constructed in sections in my workshop and assembled on site in a few days. It is approximately 4 metres by 3 metres and has a wide sliding door. The main structure is from Douglas fir and it sits on 9 concrete piles. The sides are clad in reclaimed corrugated aluminium (originally used on Nissan huts on an airfield). The roof is curved aluminium with lead details. The interior is plywood with a maple floor. It was my first attempt at a complete building- some would say it was a cabinet writ large.
