Writing Studio 1994
Andover,
Hampshire
This studio was designed for a writer who wanted a separate space to work.I constructed it in my workshop and was able to assemble it within three days on a prepared foundation at the end of his garden. The main structure is made from Douglas Fir with cedarwood cladding, door and windows. The roof is aluminium. The design incorporates large windows for maximum light with a large sliding door so as not to impinge on the available space and also to facilitate air flow in the summer. The floor area is aproximately 5.5 metres by 5 metres and sits on 12 concrete piles. The roof overhangs a small terrace at the front.
